About AFL pre-season predictions
Pre-season AFL predictions are generated before round one using prior-season form, 2026 squad changes, fixture difficulty, and a regression-fitted starting domain state for each team. Every team gets a projected final ladder position, win-loss record, top 4 chances, top 8 chances, premiership odds, and wooden spoon odds. The pre-season ladder is locked at season start and never modified, its purpose is retrospective comparison against the live ladder once games start.
